Description
The PALS Provider Course DVD Set includes the required video segments for the classroom-based (Instructor-led) PALS Provider Course and PALS Update Course.
This set includes 2 identical course DVDs to facilitate PALS Provider Course learning stations.
A digital version of this product is also available (25-1424) and on USB (25-1158).
This product has been updated to reflect new science from the 2025 Guidelines for CPR and ECC and replaces the previous version.
PALS uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.
Course Learning Objectives:
After successfully completing the PALS Course, students should be able to
- Perform high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per AHA basic life support (BLS) recommendations
- Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
- Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds
- Apply team dynamics
- Differentiate between and perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
- Differentiate between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
- Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock
- Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
- Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
- Implement post–cardiac arrest management
